Zero-Pumping-Volume Valve
The diaphragm produces a pumping effect on a fluid as the valve opens and closes. This is because the up-and-down movement of the diaphragm increases and decreases the volume inside the valve chamber as the valve acts. The volume of the fluid pulled in and pushed out is called the pumping volume.
The pumping volume creates negative factors in metering an exact fluid volume, and also in preventing fluid from dripping, for example from a dispensing nozzle. By minimizing the pumping volume, the Zero-Pumping-Volume Valve greatly helps achieve higher fluid metering accuracy.
